I am the “King” of the month.  At our house whoever is the first one to turn the calendar to the new month is the “King” for the month.  You cannot turn the calendar early but it can be turned at one minute pasted midnight.  I was the first one awake and I remembered so I am the “King” for December.

Timothy felt well enough today to ride his motorcycle and attend the funeral for James, the church leader, at Kulkpanga.  We are happy that he is finally getting his strength back.  He said that he and Divine shared the memorial service and that there was plenty of food which is always an indication of a “good” funeral.  The ladies prepared the meat and stew last night so all they had to do this morning was cook the rice and portion out the food into take away containers.

Yesterday one of the immigrations officers came to the mission house with a “Thank you letter” from the commander.  The commander had made an appeal earlier this month for supplies to remodel the immigration officers’ living quarters.  They asked for floor and wall tiles and cement.  We donated 10 bags of cement to the project.

We now have doors on the building that is being constructed at the back end of the mission property.  Dawda, the mason got them installed today.   They look very nice.  Mr. Iddrisu and Nazo got the ceiling joists painted with wood treatment today.  Aboochi, the carpenter said that he is going to come and put the ceiling on the veranda tomorrow.  Dawda also got the gable peaks made today; they do not go all the way to the ceiling but almost.  Of course there was an added charge for making the gables.

I spent the afternoon working on my quilt; it is coming along nicely.  Steve finished the monthly report; editing is my job.  I get credit for all mistakes and grammatical errors.

The high temperature today was 112 degrees but the heat index was not as high because the humidity is low today.  The heat index was 122 degrees.

Several of the members at West Hobbs Street in Athens, AL have the Covid virus.  Please add them to your prayers.  Our grandchildren Faith and Taylor are recovering nicely from the virus.  No one else in their family has gotten it yet.

Have a great day!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
