We spent the day trying to get things closed up for our trip home. Tomorrow will be spent with the churches so we knew we needed to get as much done as possible. We finished entering the receipts and counting down the safe. We are always happy when the books come out the way they should and we don’t have to recalculate everything.
It sprinkled off and on last night but this morning at 6:00 it started raining heavily. It rained for a couple hours and then it slacked off. The rest of the morning and half the afternoon we got on and off showers. At least it cooled things down. When Zorash got here this morning she was so happy because it rained and they were able to fill up all their water containers.
The young girl with the tumor on her hip came back from Tamale this morning. The doctor that saw her has referred her to the specialist in Tamale. She will go sometime next week. The doctor sent a referral letter with the mother; he still suspects osteosarcoma. We are leaving some money for the next step in her diagnosis. This morning we gave the little girl a baby doll; she was so pleased with it. We are so anxious and worried about this little girl!
Speaking of pleased; Zorash took the used clothes and shoes to the very poor child that is being raised by his grandparents. She said that there was much jubilation when the child saw the clothes. One of the pairs of shoes fit perfectly and the other was a little bit big which is a good thing because he will have something to grow into. Zorash said that the grandparents wanted to come today to thank us for the gifts but she told them to wait until tomorrow when we bring the uniforms. We want to take some pictures of the boy in his uniform.
The carpenter got the roof put on the pavilion type kitchen at Kpamang this morning. Divine said that they all worked in the rain because he wanted to get it finished as soon as possible so they could start using it. He said that it looks very nice. Divine plans to put ¾ walls around half of the pavilion to keep the goats and sheep out and he plans on closing in the other half to make a store room for grains and food stuffs. I love a man with a plan! The carpenter stopped by this afternoon and we paid him for his work.
This afternoon we pumped all the large poly tanks full of water from the reservoir and Steve doctored them with chlorine. We do not drink this water but we do use it to wash dishes and to bathe in and we would like it to be as clean as possible.
Thank you for all you do.
In His Service,
I’m Steve and Kandie
