We visited the congregation of the Lord’s church at Niliyuundo this morning.  The location of the village is in the Nanumba district south of Yendi.  It takes about an hour to get to the place. The members consented to meeting under a nice mango tree close to the building. There was a gentle breeze which really helped out.

It was a very enjoyable visit.  I choose to teach a lesson about the Holy Spirit.  The lesson centered on who the Holy Spirit is and what He does.  After services were over one of the men told us he was very happy that I had chosen this subject to speak about.  He said they had a visitor that said he had the power of the Spirit to heal and raise from the dead.  During the question and answer period we had some good questions raised from the men and we answered with more scriptures than “you can shake a stick at” as my mother would say.

It had been a long time since we had visited this congregation so they were very happy to receive the metal strong box/padlock and other usual gifts to help out the congregation .

There was a little distraction during the question & answer  period due to a flatbed semi pulling up near our location and dropping off some electric poles.  The semi had no hydraulic arm to off load the poles .One of the workers tied one end of a rope around a pole and the other end was tied to a tree.  when the driver pulled the tractor-trailer forward the pole would slide off the tail end of the trailer making a “thud”. This was done several times.  During election times politicians here in the north use light poles to encourage voters to vote for them making the people think they will get electricity in the near future. That is usually not the case. I have seen these poles lying in villages for 4-5 years without ever having a wire attached to them.

The old chief of the village passed away a year or two ago so we visited the elder acting in place of the chief . He was happy to get the kola money!

Before leaving the village the brothers presented us with a nice stack of yams.  We  thanked them for their wonderful gift.

We arrived back at the house around 1:30 this afternoon.  The mason had finished hanging the last garage door and our friend Red was working on the bars for locking the garage doors shut when we are out of the country.

Hope you all enjoyed that extra hour of sleep last night . Ghana doesn’t have daylight savings time so our time remains the same .  Now we are 6 hours ahead of Alabama’s  central standard time.

Have a good Lord’s Day and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen & Kandie Taylor
