Steve had a brilliant idea! We have to make copies of the churches’ documents every year. It takes several hours to dismantle the copies and make the copies one by one. We have to make copies for 23 churches and each church has 13 copies that have to be made. Many times, the copier does not cooperate and it jams repeatedly! The whole thing is very annoying. Steve decided to scan each page of the documents for each church and put each of them in a separate file so when we need copies all we have to do is click their file and press print! We are so excited about being able to make the copies quicker. It will take Steve a couple days to get all the documents scanned but after that it should be smooth sailing! I love it when a plan comes together!

I have a funny story to tell you. Yesterday, while we were in Tamale shopping, a man walked up to us and greeted us. We greeted him in return. Steve was busy loading the truck; the man came up to me and said, “I like your slippers very much!” I responded by saying, “Thank you I bought them in the market in Yendi!” I figured that next he would ask me for them. He said, “I admire your legs.” I started laughing, said “Thank you” and quickly got in the truck!

The water in the cistern has cleared up nicely and smells good so we decided it was clear enough to use. We pumped last year’s water up into the upper and lower poly tanks and then Steve pumped the big poly tank full of the rain water that we caught a few days ago. He treated it heavily with chlorine. We will not have to use that water for several weeks. That will give the chlorine enough time to purify the water. We do not drink or cook with the rain water; we filter water for drinking.

Since we had a fresh supply of water, I washed clothes! It was nice to finally see the bottom of the dirty clothes basket! We will still conserve water but at least all the tanks are filled and we have recovered from the loss of the water caused by the leaking pipe.

It has been terribly hot here today; we needed to go to town to buy eggs; we waited until about 4:00 so that it would be a little cooler. Mr. Adams, the fix it man, was able to fix my iron. He said that it needed a new thermostat.

Have a great day!

The Monkeyshines

Did I tell you that while the parents were in the states something died in my jail cell? I tell you this jail cell is unsanitary! No one should have to live with a dead creature! I can’t tell if it was a mouse or a lizard! But I don’t really care what it was. It died a while ago because it has stopped stinking. It died in that small room in my jail cell that I am supposed to sleep in but I have refused; it is too creepy! I have seen both a lizard and a mouse in that room and I am having nothing to do with it. Mom is the one who had to clean the dead whatever out of the room. She used her bare hand; can you imagine? She tried to scrap it out with sticks and leaves but she could not make any headway! Oh! Yuck! I don’t want her to touch me ever again! Not to worry because she washed her hands first in hand sanitizer, then with soap, then with straight bleach, and then with hand sanitizer again. What was the woman thinking? I have been telling you guys that she is certifiably crazy and no one is listening to me!

I demand that the whole room be disinfected!

Love, Skeeter
