Yussif, the elderly gentleman that had to have both of his legs removed just below the knee because of diabetes is going to go to Nsawam next week to the orthopedic center.  His son hoped that he was going to get his new legs right away but after talking to him a little while we realized that this is sort of like a consultation.  If he meets the requirement they will start teaching him to walk again.  It could take several months.  Yussif’s son stopped by this afternoon to give us an update and to pick up the money we promised.  He was so grateful for the help and we want to pass his thanks along to you.

We washed 9 loads of laundry today; mostly bedding and curtains.  Bit by bit the mountain of laundry is going down.  This afternoon we started reorganizing the office and unpacking the paper, files, card stock, labels and teaching material.  We had packed all that stuff in rubber tubs to keep them clean and protected from the water in case it rained while the roof was off.  We sure are happy we did.  They are a little dusty but no worse for the wear!

Steve went to the hospital this morning for more continuing education classes.  He said that this morning’s class was very interesting.  The representative from Nestles was the guest speaker.   Nestles is the company that makes the formula and cereal we give the orphan babies that come to the Child Center.  We have been using their products since 2001.  Steve talked to him after class and he said that he was going to see what he could do about getting a discount for the Child Center.  We don’t know if anything will come of it but we will take all the help we can get.  The guy said he would like to visit the Child Center.

I only thought that we had painted all the rooms in the main house; this morning I realized we had not painted the guest bathroom and shower room.  Oops!  We pulled out the cabinet that holds the bathroom supplies so it can be painted.  We will mix some paint tomorrow and get started in those rooms.

It is almost time for evening Bible study so I will close for now.  Take care.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
