As Steve was inputting the churches’ information into the computer this morning, he discovered that one of the clusters of information was not complete. We had 2 copies of the same documents and were missing another one. We figure that last time we were making copies we inadvertently mixed the copies and gave Awal, the man in Tamale, both the original and the copy of one of the sets of documents and that left us with 2 of the same documents. We called Divine, fortunately he was in Yendi so he came over to the mission house. He called Awal, he said he would check and see but that the documents were not with him at that moment. Without a complete set of documents Awal cannot process that church’s information. We should hear something from him in a couple days. Steve actually finished entering all the churches’ documents a few minutes ago and did not come across any other mistakes. We are happy that we caught the mistake now instead of later.
When Divine came to the mission house he stayed and visited for over an hour. He loves to talk and he caught us up on all the news!
I got a bit more done on my quilt top so I am happy about that.
Red, the part time driver, also stopped by for a visit; he really wanted to get started on the new monkey house but we are not starting that project until everyone has finished fasting and the workers have come back to work. If the worker is a Muslim, the fasting drains them of all their energy and they cannot give a good day’s work for good day’s pay! Besides, we can’t stand to see them struggling in this heat without even a drink of water!
Red also needed another pair of reading glasses. Last time he was here I gave him a pair of reading sunglasses. Well, someone he knows asked him for the glasses and he felt obligated to give them to him. The man told him that he needed the glasses and Red replied that he too needed the glasses. The man went on to say that he knew Red could get another pair so he should give them to him. Really, how annoying. Red said he felt he had to give them to him or he would say that he was a wicked man! Steve told Red that when we give someone a gift and they do not keep the gift but give it away we feel sort of insulted like the person did not like the gift enough to keep it! And it makes us not want to give them anything else! That gave Red something to think about. Of course, we gave him another pair. Reading sunglasses is not something that we normally bring over.
Thank you for the love, prayers and support!

The Monkeyshines
I got disturbed twice today; once when Divine came and once when Red came! I do not like strangers in the compound! They make me anxious and when Mom knows that they are coming she puts me back in my jail cell. That is terribly unfair, I have not done anything wrong and I am confined to solitary confinement!
Mom only thought that they had found a solution to me getting the gate and monkey house keys off the hook on the veranda. Originally there was just a nail sticking out of the cement and it was easy to pull the keys off the nail; then Dad put a long, bent nail that forms a hook to hang the keys on. Well, guess what? I have figured out that if I want the keys off the hook instead of pulling straight out on the keys I have to pull out and push up on the keys and the keys will easily come off the hook. I am such a clever little guy! They can’t trick me! Mom said they are going to have to hang the keys from a pillar that I cannot reach. What fun is there in that? The parents are proud of me when I am smart and learning new things but then I am in trouble for being too smart!
Oh! The injustice that is in the world!
Love, Skeeter
