We were up late last night.  We had our first ever “Zoom” meeting with one of the congregations that has been supporting us for years.  The whole process was very strange!  Steve had done a Zoom meeting during Covid with his doctor but that is all the exposure we have had.  I have to admit that it is an amazing thing!  There were several other people attending the meeting besides me and Steve.  The meeting would not have been possible last year before we got reliable internet service.  We love “Starlink”!   Steve was afraid that the electricity would go off during the meeting because it goes off multiple times a day so shortly before the meeting was to start at 12:00 last night he turned on the generator.  If the electricity goes off so does Starlink and it takes a little while for it to reboot and find the satellites again.  Anyway, that is what I think it is doing!  Ha!

Steve had to rescan and resend all the documents that the bank needed to update and audit our account because he sent it as a JPEG file and the officer, Ms. Lydia wanted a PDF file.  The audit is 12 pages long and then they needed a letter, copies of our passports, copies of our non-citizen cards and copies of the signers Ghana Cards and proof of their address.  We spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out how to get the documents into PDF files.  Then the documents were too large to send all at the same time; the most pages Steve could send at one time were 3 pages.  We hope that Ms. Lydia can piece the documents back together.  If this does not work, we told her that we would take a hard copy to the bank in Tamale and they could send it on to her.  The whole thing is exhausting!  Did I tell you that after 20 years the bank still makes a copy of our ID every time we cash a check?  Really, there can’t be that many Americans that have checking accounts with the bank in Tamale!  In fact, I can’t ever remember seeing an American in that bank.  They call us by name so you know they know who we are!  But really how many copies of our ID do you want to have on file?

It rained heavily during the night!  I got up around 4:00 am and cleaned out the screen filters on the rain water that we collect off the roof.  It rained heavily again today around 1:00pm.  We had just gotten back from the market when the bottom fell out of the sky!

I got a little sewing down today but not as much as I expected too; there were just too many distractions.

Take care; the weekend is upon you!  Enjoy!

I just knew that today was going to be a terrible horrible no-good day because as soon as I got up this morning Mom dragged me in the bathroom and started running water in that big black tub!  Not a good sign of things to come!  I told you yesterday that I knew it was coming!  All in all, the bath was not so bad today!  I had a big breakfast and the water was nice and warm so I really did not have too much to complain about except that I hate taking a bath!  Getting out and getting dried off is fun!  I have the best time fighting with the towel; Mom tries to grab me and I try to escape because when she catches me, she rubs my hair backwards which makes me look like I am having a bad hair day!  I know some people call my hair fur but you know I “identify” as a human so you can’t argue with me on that point so just humor me and call it hair!

This morning at 7:00 there were school children standing at the gates to the mission house shouting at me!  They kept shouting, “MONKEY, MONKEY!”  It was so annoying, so I sounded a warning sound against them; that just made them shout louder!  They ran away when they saw Mom come bounding out of the house!  No, that is one woman you don’t want to tangle with!  If I did not know her, I would run away too!

DON’T MESS WITH MOM!

Love, Skeeter
