Nazo finished weaving the thatch this afternoon. I know that he is happy to have that itchy job behind him. The grass makes them itch and it also cuts their hands as they are weaving. Every afternoon after Nazo finishes weaving he quickly takes a shower and changes his clothes. Nazo is going to contact a man that will put the thatch on the roof. He will come and tell us how many men he will need and how much he will charge for the job. Thatch is getting more and more difficult to find because they burn the bush and that burns up the thatch.
We are back in the master bedroom; finally!!!! Hurrah! Boat came and finished putting the new air conditioner in this morning. We are so happy to be back in this room that has an office. There are twin beds in the guest room and they are not the most comfortable beds. We are looking forward to sleeping on the waterbed tonight. The air conditioner seems to be cooling well.
Divine just left; he spent part of the morning and all afternoon working on the paper work for the churches. He spent a good deal of time on the phone trying to get information from 2 of the churches. The church leader, Joseph Kumasi from one of the churches had a stroke and is not doing well; this has slowed down their paperwork. Divine went to visit Joseph this afternoon; he still cannot speak. He was discharged from the hospital about a week ago and is being treated with herbs. Well, I guess herbs are better than nothing but not much. The herbalists have done a great job of selling the Ghanaians on herbs; they claim to be able to cure everything from stroke to cancer and every ailment in between. Even the medical community supports the herbal treatment. There are few regulations on herbs so anyone can package and sell them.
Divine is going to spend the night at Timothy Niligrini’s house so he will be able to catch the first bus to Tamale tomorrow.
It is almost time for Bible study so I will close for now. Take care and have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
P.S. Please remember Rusty Johnson and his family in your prayers. Rusty’s father is not doing well and we know they would appreciate the prayers.
