Yendi Notes
We only thought that we were finished sorting and organizing the office. This morning we found 4 more boxes of stuff that needed to be gone through. There are 2 tables in that room that we eat on when we have guests because there is an air conditioner in that room. We push the tables together to make a large table we can all sit around. One of the tables was about 1 ½ an inch longer than the other table. It made the table cloth look weird. This morning Steve cut the table down. I was very pleased with the result.
Mid morning we went to town to buy diesel for the generator and gas for the air compressor. The electricity has been going off almost every day for an hour or two. No one knows why and we don’t have to worry about it so much because we have a big generator. It cost more to run the generator than the city electricity but we are totally unproductive if there is no electricity! We are running on auxiliary power right now. While we were getting fuel Steve filled up the truck so it would be ready to go to Bungbali tomorrow.
I mixed a very beautiful mint green paint this morning and Mr. Iddrisu started painting the furniture for the guest bedroom. Mr. Iddrisu told us that he was going to take a week of vacation so he could work on his farm. He has a farm at Kpamang, the village where Divine lives. He will plant yams, corn and maybe peanuts. Last year his farm did very well. He relied heavily on Divine for advice. Mr. Iddrisu is not the best farmer but Divine is an excellent farmer. We hate that Mr. Iddrisu is going to take off right now because we desperately need him here to help with the painting but I guess it will be here when he gets back.
We got a heavy rain this afternoon which is unusual because at this time of the year we usually get rain in the evenings and nights. Enough rain fell that the cistern is now ½ full of water. I am so happy! You know what that means; I can do more laundry! Maybe this week I will actually catch up!
The rugs we had washed yesterday were about ½ dry when it started blowing up the rain. We quickly moved them into the garage. We didn’t want to get them wet all over again although the rain water might have rinsed out the rest of the soap! Ha!
Thanks so much for helping with the work! We appreciate the help.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
