It was quite strange going to services this morning without having an interpreter traveling with us. Timothy Niligrini’s family in Jagrido is having a funeral celebration this weekend so he had asked to be excused today so he could worship at Jagrido and be in the village for the funeral. We had made arrangements through Brother Divine to visit the small church at Kulkpanga which is on the way to Divine’s village of Kpamang.

Kulkpanga is 15 minutes away from the compound out in the bush. When we arrived at the village we were early.  The tree where I parked the pickup is near the house of the man who has leg sores that we helped financially when last visited the Church. While we waited the man came out to greet us. His leg still looks real rough; almost like leprosy.  He said it was better but you could have fooled me. I gave him some more money to pay for the bandages and medicine needed to dress the wound.  He was very happy for the assistance.

The Church only has 4 to 5 adult members.  We met under a tree.  There were 26 children present. I decided to relate the story of David killing the giant Goliath because there were so many children present. Kids love to hear about the sling David used to kill the giant.  Children use slingshots here in Ghana but they call them “catapults”.   The children were very attentive to the lesson.  After services we asked them questions about the lesson and they did a good job answering.

As Kandie and I were talking with the adults we found out they would like to build small pavilion to meet in.  We will provide some of the building materials to make one.   James, one of the church members has a round room that needed a new thatched roof desperately. We are going to give him some of the thatch we had left from roofing the round houses. He plans to come tomorrow afternoon to get the thatch.

Brother Divine woke us up this morning before the alarm went off. He needed to pick up some of his money we are holding for him in the safe.

The kitchen and dining room are not as cluttered.  We emptied the coolers of the food we were storing while the refrigerator was being painted.

We hope you have a great Lord’s Day and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
