Our day started out by stopping at a pet store that is near the hotel we used to stay in.  I asked our niece if she would like to see some animals and she was quick to say “yes”.  The shop has tortoises, monkeys, birds, and a civet cat (looks similar to a raccoon).

From the pet shop we drove to the section of town called “Osu”.  We stopped at a Chinese grocery store and picked up some groceries. Parking in Accra is a problem; we found a parking space at the jewelry store; Kandie dropped off her earrings to be repaired while we shopped along the street.  Osu is a tourist trap that has street vendors selling all kinds of stuff.  There are even men holding bowls of frozen fish thawing and dripping on the pavement while other sellers try to get motorists to purchase their product.  Dahlia needed gifts to take back home with her so we walked up and down the street looking for the items she needed.  While we were walking we stopped by another grocery store to purchase additional items to take back with us to Yendi. Mid way through our shopping trip we got hot and thirsty so we stopped at a small snack shop and bought ice cream.

We shopped till after 3pm then we decided to get some KFC chicken to eat for a late lunch.  This gave us a chance to rest and visit while we waited for the earrings to be finished.  We were happy to get the earrings as planned.

Update on Jack; He was able to get his visa and is presently on the Delta flight to Ghana. He is to arrive around 2:30pm this afternoon. We are going to pick him up from the airport and drive directly to Kumasi where we will spend the night.  We plan on worshipping at the Accra Road Church tomorrow morning before heading on to Yendi.

It will be late getting in so it will be Sunday evening before we will write the Notes.  Please keep us in your prayers for a safe trip north.

In His service,

Stephen, Kandie & Dahlia
