My brother Paul and Red stayed in Wa a little longer than they intended to because Red wanted to go to a doctor there to have his leg looked at. Years ago Red had a motorcycle accident and broke his leg. At first he did not go to the doctor; he allowed them to treat it with traditional medicine. After it became apparent that the traditional medicine was not working he went to a real doctor. The doctor had to put in plates and screws.  His leg has never been right; it has a serious bow and it hurts him. The pain has gotten worse.  The doctor in Wa said that he thinks he can help him. He would have to remove the plate and screws and do surgery but maybe he can help him.

The air conditioning went out in Paul’s truck and now the alternator is not working so the truck is back in the shop. Such are the joys of vehicle ownership!

Someone started the front field of the mission property on fire while we were gone and the fire got so hot that it melted part of the city water line that feeds the mission house. It is leaking. The only good thing about the leak is that it only leaks when they turn the water on which is only 1 time a week for an hour or so. Steve went to the Water Works company this afternoon to let them know that it was leaking. He then had to bring 3 men out to the house to see the leak. It was still dripping when they got here. They said that they would come out tomorrow morning and fix it.

Divine just left; he had a successful trip to Tamale and everything went according to plan which is actually amazing. He said that he got the package sent to the church at Wa. While we were visiting the driver of the vehicle that took the package called and said he had almost gotten to Wa.

We were short-handed in the Center this morning. Mr. Iddrisu was still at his house attending to the formalities of his sister’s funeral. Zorash had to attend a meeting. She is the assembly woman for her area. The meeting today was a “peace keeping” meeting that has to do with next year’s presidential election. Some organization thinks that if they can get the women on board there will be peace in the north. That is not going to happen because the women’s opinion in this area matters little or nothing. They are mostly treated like second class citizens.

Thank you for all you do for us and the work. Keep the work in your prayers.

In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
