We are back in Yendi! We had good flights all the way; for the most part our seats were good too except on the flight from Amsterdam to Accra Ghana. That plane is set up with 3 seats on each side with 4 seats in the middle. We got stuck sitting in the middle of the middle between 2 men. Since we had to book our trip on such short notice we did not have much of a choice of where to sit if we wanted to sit together. We like for one of us to sit on the isle so we don’t have to disturb anyone when we get up to walk around. The man that sat by Steve did not even get up once during the 7 hour flight. The guy that sat by me only got up twice.
Red, the part time driver, was waiting for us when the plane landed in Tamale. We stopped and got diesel then headed to Yendi.
The VELD (road worthy) renewal was due on both the green truck and the new van while we were gone so we gave the paperwork to Red to give to the guy in Yendi to renew them for us. He was able to renew the new van without any trouble but they refused the green truck renewal because the paper work did not tell how big the motor was. Please! How annoying! We have had that truck for 19 years and for 19 years we have been getting the VELD renewed without them knowing how big the motor was! They just hunt for something to charge extra for! We found the original paperwork. The guy is going to take it back to Tamale tomorrow to get the road worthy sticker.
We got to Yendi at 4:30pm. This gave us enough time to unload the van and put away a few things before we headed to Kulkpeni for evening Bible study. Everyone was happy to see us.
Mother Hubbard’s cupboard is bare so we stopped in town and got some fast food. We are going to have barbecued beef of some sort and ramen noodles. We removed the cooked eggs from the ramen noodles and gave it to the watchman; no telling how long those eggs have been cooked.
Sleep well!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
