Saturday morning was spent getting all the luggage packed on top of the van in preparation for our great-nephew Jack Reynolds arrival.  You wouldn’t believe how much stuff we can bring with us from the states and then we buy supplies here in Accra that we can’t get up in Tamale.  We left the apartment complex where we were staying around 11am.  We drove around and looked at some shops, and then we stopped for lunch.  It took a long time to get our food at the restaurant where we stopped to eat so we had to hurry after eating to get some dollars changed before going to the airport.  Jack’s flight arrived on time at 2:30pm. We didn’t let Red, our driver, know that Jack was coming.  We wanted to see the expression on Red’s face when he saw Jack.  (Jack had visited with us In Yendi 3-4 years ago). Red didn’t let us down.  Red had a big smile on his face when he recognized Jack and then hugged him.

We immediately left Accra airport in the van for Kumasi where we planned to spend the night. It was around 9pm when we arrived at the hotel.  We had a late supper and then off to bed.

This morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and drove several miles into town where we worshipped with the Accra Road Church of Christ. The members were very friendly and welcomed us warmly.  The brother that taught the bible class had a power point presentation dealing with leaders and followers in the Church. I do believe it was the best presentation I have ever seen on the subject.  Kandie remembered having an extra flash drive in our carryon luggage and asked the presenter if he would make us a copy; he graciously consented.

After services were over I introduced Dahlia and Jack to the congregation and thanked the Church for their hospitality. We were then granted leave so we could start driving to Tamale. Around 4 pm we still had 4 hours of travel left to get to Yendi. We realized we couldn’t get to Yendi without driving in the dark so we chose to spend the night in Tamale.  The Yendi Road has a reputation for having armed robbers attacking vehicles in the night.  We will leave early in the morning for Yendi so we can be there to open the Child Center.

Thank you for your prayers.

In His service,

Stephen, Kandie, Dahlia, and Jack
