Divine stopped by this morning to pick up the paper work for the church and he headed to Tamale.  He called a few minutes ago and the documents he was supposed to pick up in Tamale were not ready.  He said that the accountant had traveled to Accra; he went on to tell Steve that the Registrar General official had been attacked at his house last night by a robber.  The robber had a machete but he was able to keep him from taking anything.  It appears that he had a fight with him.  The details are a bit fuzzy.  We will have to wait until Divine gets back to get the full story.

The hospital called Steve yesterday and asked if he could go with the team to Dagbon State High School and do more screenings.  Steve can tack all this volunteer work onto his continuing education credit so he does not mind helping out.  Steve said it was miserably hot in the building they were using today.  He said that it was a big room but there was no ceiling and nothing between them and the hot tin roof.   He said there were windows but the air outside is so hot even a breeze does not help.

I was surprised to see Zorash back at work this morning.  She was not feeling very well.  I gave her a Malta because she had not eaten anything since she had been sick.  She had some crackers she nibbled on all morning.  She seemed to be feeling better by the time she left.

Zorash and Meri were going to go to the naming ceremony of Shiabu, the electrician.  We sent a gift of baby clothes, powder, blankets, socks, soap, crocheted baby hat and a little money.  Our thanks go out to those that give us things for the babies.  Zorash came back later this afternoon to exchange the baby clothes.  They had a boy and I sent stuff for a girl.  Oops!  I don’t think they would want to dress a boy in all that pink fluffy stuff!

It has been trying to blow up a rain but has not been successful yet but oh! my the dust is terrible and the plastic bags are flying everywhere.  It was hot again today; the high temperature was 116 degrees.  We desperately need rain.  If you could include rain for us in your prayers we would appreciate it.

One of the mothers that came to the Center this morning had a problem with her hands.  Both of her hands were swollen with large water blisters.  We asked her if she had been making lye soap or making tie-dyed fabric.  She said she had not.  Her hands were so swollen that it was difficult for her to hold her baby so she brought another lady to carry the baby.  She was on her way to the clinic.  I believe the hospital would have been a better place for her to go.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
