Nazo told us that the goats were getting into the back field. He was worried about them coming in because it won’t be long before he plants beans and I am sure that goats like baby bean sprouts. He said that he had been watching them and they were coming in through the bars of the new gates that we put in last year in the places that the cement wall got knocked down from the rain runoff. We took some of the old field fencing and layered it on top of the gate type fence. That should take care of the problem.
Amama saw a snake in the gutter on the front veranda. She said that it was a big green snake. She called Nazo to come kill the snake because she said that the snake tried to strike at her! Nazo is mostly afraid of snakes too. He was not able to kill this one, he said that it climbed out of the gutter and got away. He could not find it once it got in the bushes. He said that it was a poisonous snake. He went on to tell us that the neighbors behind the mission house reported seeing a big python cross the wall into the mission property. These pythons are the one that they eat. Nazo said that he thinks the snake lives on the mission property and eats the rats and squirrels. We aren’t too worried about a python.
This morning Gomda, the mechanic, got back with the new “used” engine for the truck. He called Steve to come and look at it before he put it in the truck. When Steve got there Gomda started the engine and it was not even in the truck. Amazing! I took the video camera and asked Gomda to start it for me so I could take a video of the engine running while it was sitting on the ground!
As we were coming back to the mission house we ran into Divine. He had come to Yendi to have his motorcycle worked on. This is the first time he has had a motorcycle and he is figuring out how expensive they are to keep running. Vehicles are a curse and a blessing all rolled into one!
As soon as Zorash got here this morning we took her to town with us so she could interpret for us at the welding shop. I needed a couple more frames for the hanging files. They are on my list of things to bring back from the states but I have totally run out of file cabinet space. We bought a couple large plastic tubs and I needed the frames. I took a frame with us so the welder would know exactly what we needed. We also took a piece of light rebar type material for him to use to make the frame. We picked them up at noon and they were not perfect but they will work just fine. I spent part of the afternoon sorting files.
Take care and have a great day!
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
