Our day started off again with a fine breakfast at Kandie’s Cantina.

After breakfast we headed out to have services with the brothers and sisters at the Sakpei Church of Christ which is east of Yendi. The members were still gathering, so we went to pay our respects to the chief of the village which is customary.

The chief was not available but we were allowed to look around his courtyard where they had some peppers drying.  The chief’s family was very hospitable and showed how they use their pestle and mortar on their grain.

As we were about to head back, the shopper in Kandie kicked in.  Many of the villagers brought bowls and rocks for her to purchase.  Yes, I said rocks.  Supposedly these smooth rocks had been used in grinding grain.  Personally, I think they just found some smooth rocks on the ground and sold them to her. The saddest thing is Gina bought some too.

We met with the brethren for worship and had the Lord’s Supper with them.  We met outside under a shade tree. I taught the lesson with Timothy translating.  There were about 55 members present.  They had many questions that we addressed so we didn’t get back to the house until 12:30.

This evening, we drove to the Sobitido Church of Christ.  It is located west of Yendi. I taught the lesson with Timothy translating.  We met outside since it was cooler. There were over 70 members present.  We had a few questions that we addressed.  The Church provided a gift of Soybeans and Peppers to be used at the seminar. It was a huge bag that overwhelmed us.  These people did not give out of their abundance. This was a sacrificial gift on their part. What a kind gesture.

It is getting late and I need to shower yet to wash off the Harmattan (Sahara Desert sand that blows in).  All of this dust is playing havoc with my sinuses.

Thanks so much for your support of the work, and the prayers for our safety.
