We were saddened to hear that our dear friend Robert Johnson, father of Rusty Johnson passed from this life this past week. Brother Johnson became acquainted with the Yendi work though Rusty several years ago and was a supporter of the evangelistic work as well as an educational supporter of the school in the village of Kpamang where Bro. Divine lives and works.  Our condolences go to the family!

At 6 am this morning Timothy Niligrini called. He said we could not visit the church at Bungbali as planned because tension had risen between the Konkomba and Chokosi tribes. Brother Edward from Bungbali strongly advised us not to come.  We have heard several stories since as to what occurred but none of them are good.  Both stories involve death.

Timothy called Brother Super at Nakpachee to see if we could visit them and we were invited.  Nakpachee is about 12-15 miles south of Yendi.  When we arrived we had time to visit the chief so we greeted him before services.  I forgot to mention God gave us a nice rain last night. We had enough water to fill the cistern 6-8 inches.  When I talked with the chief at Nakpache I asked him if they received any rain. He said no! I then told him we would pray that God gave them the next rain which made him chuckle. .  As we were coming from the chief’s house before services we noticed a truck that had loud speakers telling the village they were selling plastic lawn chairs.  These chairs are what we usually are seated in when we visit the churches. I purchased two of them and presented them to the congregation.

Timothy was given the opportunity to teach the bible class and I preached. We also presented the congregation with our gifts of a bible, cups, bread, juice, and a metal lock box for the important papers to be kept in so the mice can’t destroy them

After services we had the questions & answer period.  The men told us they had been working on the building. We noticed they had replaced a door and some window casings. The building is very new but the termites show no mercy even on new wood.  We gave the church some money to purchase some insecticide to put around the building to slow down the termites and to purchase veranda poles.

It took no time for us to get back to the house. Kandie had picked up a bucket of mangoes from the tree down around the child center this morning for Timothy to take home.  I am sure his children enjoyed the fruit as well as some of the neighbor children!

After our late lunch we went to the market to get some fabric for a project Timothy Niligrini is sewing up for Kandie. While we were there also bought some other fruit and vegetables. During the dry season fruits and veggies are scarcer than hen’s teeth.

Thanks so much for your prayers and support of the work. Have a good Lord’s Day and may God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
