Kandie and I spent most of the morning as well as the afternoon working in the office trying to get the books ready to go to the auditor’s office.  A number of years ago Rusty Johnson, from West Hobbs Street congregation, set Kandie up with an Excel spread sheet for keeping the books.  It has been a real life saver but there is always drawbacks like human error when typing in the information or not having the proper documentation.  The advantages using Excel far outweighs the disadvantages.

First thing this morning brother Divine stopped by the house on his way home.  He reported about the business he and Timothy had worked on in Tamale yesterday.  I think he is planning to hire a tractor to plow four acres for his farm for this farming season.  Divine isn’t a paid evangelist but he contributes a lot of time dealing with many of the congregations like going to Tamale for us yesterday.  Divine said the dam that was built last year at Kpamang still has water in the deep end which is wonderful.

This evening when we arrived at Kulkpeni we met Timothy Niligrini and some boys walking through the church property. We struck a deal with the boys to plant some cuttings of a bush they use for a living fence to demarcate property lines. Timothy said the boys had panted the whole property several times because the neighborhood children had pulled up the cuttings twice.  Timothy, Tichak, and I walked over to the houses and talked with the families of the children that had pulled up the cuttings. The parents said they would help control the situation.  I’m not so optimistic but we will see.

I was asked to teach the bible class tonight at Kulkpeni.  There were not many adults present but the boys that had been planting the cuttings hung around for the study.  This was a great opportunity to ask the kids bible questions instead of speaking.  The kids really enjoyed giving the answers to questions about the creation and the Garden of Eden.   Timothy’s daughter Abigail is a little ringtail tooter and cannot stay still for a minute.  She was giving the older boys a run for their money trying to get her hand up first to answer the questions.  Learning can be fun.

That’s it for today. Hope you’re enjoying some of the warmer spring days and all those flowers starting to bloom.  Our high temperature was 110 degrees today.

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
