It was a few degrees cooler today; the high was 114 degrees with a heat index of 140 degrees. The sun has gone down and it is still 101 degrees out there. Maybe the heat is a good thing; someone told me that the Corona Virus does not like hot temperatures; that might keep it from spreading so fast in Ghana.

First thing this morning we took a roll of razor wire down to the back end of the property; our neighbors are still finding ways to climb over the cement wall and through the razor wire to poop in the back field. We reconnected some of the wire and we hung a second row in one of the troublesome areas.  Most people walk their fence rows to keep their livestock in but we have to walk to keep the neighbors out. Most of them don’t want to spend the money to put an outhouse on their property so they poop in the bush. There is still another area that we have to shore up tomorrow.

We had Meri and Amama clean the room we are using for storage in the Child Center building. Sometimes we use it for extra sleeping quarters if we have a lot of guests but it has not been used for anything but storage for years. This is the last room that has carpet. Can you imagine that my mom thought carpet was a good idea? That carpet has been down for 19 years and has never been vacuumed. We clean it the best we can by sweeping it vigorously. We pulled it up this morning; what a mess; dust was flying everywhere. Meri and Amama said that they wanted the carpet we were more than happy to see it go!

Asana’s mother came to see us this morning. She was surprised when we would not let her in the gate; no one is taking the president of Ghana advice to stay home and away from other people. We talked to her through the gate. Asana has been crippled since birth. She came to visit us last week and on her way home she had a flat on her handicapped tricycle; she needed a new tube and a few spokes. We were happy to help; we just handed her the money through the gate.

Timothy Niligrini came by this afternoon to get a new pair of reading glasses; he had broken his. We did the same thing with him; Steve took him 3 pairs to choose from; he picked the ones he wanted. We brought backpacks in for the evangelists so I held up his 4 choices and passed the one he wanted over the gate to him.

Take care and have a great day!  Stay safe!

In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
