Gomda finished the truck around noon.  Steve said that it started much easier than it had been starting and that it ran very smoothly.  Gomda wanted to take the van and change out the power steering pump with the one from the new used engine that we bought to put in the truck but Steve asked him to wait until Monday to change it out because we were going to a far village tomorrow and we were not going to take the truck because we have to stop and pick up people on the way.

While Steve was getting the van ready for our trip tomorrow he noticed that the spare tire was flat.  He took it to the vulcanizer and the valve stem had a crack around it and had a slow leak.  We sure are happy that he found it before we needed to change a tire.

This afternoon I made some curtains for some of the book / storage shelves.  We are trying to get them all covered to protect the stuff that is stored on them from the dust.  We are hoping that the new roof and ceilings will help some too.

Divine just left.  He had a successful trip to Tamale and he was able to turn in his final manuscript.  Now he has to finish his practice teaching and have the head teacher sign off on that and he will be finished.  He has been working on this for about 3 years and we know he will be happy to have it behind him.  I don’t think he has finished paying all he owes the university but they have told him he can pay that bit by bit.

Mr. Iddrisu came back from his leave this morning.  He had taken a week off to plant his farm.  Nazo and Mr. Iddrisu started painting the water proof paint on the mission house.  It is a tar based paint.  It is black and ugly but it works.  We experimented with it last year and the year before.  The buildings here mold.  The water proof paint prevents the moisture from getting to the cement block and molding.  It will take several coats of white paint to cover the black but in the end it will be worth the extra effort.

Thank you for the love, prayers and support!  Oh!  I almost forgot to tell you that our good friends Jimmy and Mary Stroud need your prayers.  Jimmy had surgery earlier in the week and we know they covet your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
