We are so excited; we just got word from our son-in-law Marcus that he is going to come and help us with the seminar this year!  What a happy day!  He is in the process of getting his passport and visa.  The seminar is our busiest time of the year and an extra pair of hands will be welcome.  In the next few days Steve will send him the seminar topics so he can start preparing his lessons.

Zorash was supposed to have the day off today because of tomorrow’s holiday but she came to work anyway because she said she had nothing to do at home and she enjoys helping me cut out the quilt pieces.  Tomorrow is “Founder’s Day”.  It is sort of like “Presidents’ Day”.  Since it fell on Saturday the works get to pick another day to be off.

Mr. Iddrisu came back to work today.  He said that he was not able to come back to Yendi yesterday because the family asked him to go around to all the important people that helped with the funeral and thank them from coming.  He is going to use his holiday day to make up for the extra day he took off.

This afternoon Steve went out in search of wire that will be strong enough to hang the razor wire and still pliable enough to twist with the pliers.  He bought the twisted guide wire that the contractors use to secure the electric poles to the ground.  He cut it into lengths and now he is in the process of untwisting it.  We plan to start hanging it tomorrow if it is not raining.  It rained heavily around 12:00 last night and then it drizzled steadily until 5:00 this morning.  We are enjoying cooler temperatures because of the rain.  In fact it is cooler here than it is in the Alabama / Tennessee area.

Nazo has been a bachelor for the past few days.  His wife Amina went to her home village because someone died.  Nazo was complaining about having to buy his food.  (Poor Nazo!)

I wonder who is feeding his children while his wife is away.

Warihana and her father came back from Tamale.  For whatever reason they did not do the surgery; they are scheduled to go back on the 16th of October.  If you remember Warihana is the 12 year old girl that has osteomyelitis in her leg.  Her father brought back the money; he said that it would be safer if he left it with us than try to keep it in the house himself.

Please keep us and the work in your prayers.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
