The wall is coming along very well! When we went out at lunch time the mason had already laid 350 blocks. We are a bit concerned because he did not follow our directions; we told him because the rain was coming almost every day we were afraid the wall would fall down so we told him to only set 2 courses for as long as he could in one day and then the next day come back and lay the other 2 courses. He said he could not do it that way because he hired extra masons. If he did it the way we wanted the men would only be able to work for half of a day because the footer had not been dug and poured. Well, that sounds like a management problem to me! Why did he call the block layers before the foundation diggers had finished their work? I told him that if the rain came and the wall fell down, I was not going to pay him to put it up again! He laughed and said he had consulted the rain and it was not coming today! Ha! Some of the church members were there and they want us to make the wall taller because they said the children will crawl over the wall. Those children are going to crawl over the wall no matter how tall we make it! They crawled over the wall of the mission compound when it was 7 feet tall, they chiseled out steps in the blocks so they could crawl over even when the razor wire was on the top of the wall. If they want in, they will find a way to get in. But at least the cars and motorcycles will stay out if the church members keep the gates closed.
Today was Yendi’s market day so after we left Kulkpeni we went to the market; it was so hot that we hurried and got what we needed and headed back to the house. We found some nice cabbages and the market was filled with beautiful tomatoes! We needed Kulekulee for the Child Center; the peanut treat we give the children when they come to visit but we did not find any. Zorash has a friend that occasionally makes it so maybe she will make some for us.
I got all the fabric scraps washed today; the sun was out so they dried quickly on the black tarp.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

I have my own personal container of “Robb”. Robb is sort of a cross between Vick’s vapor rub and Mentholatum. It is hot but I love it! I have not been able to get the container open by myself. Not that I don’t try. When I get the container, I try for a couple minutes to get it open but then I have to resort to getting Dad to open it for me. Once it is open I sit quietly while he puts it on my nose and lips! It is amazing how much better I can breathe when I get the Robb; very refreshing! They won’t let me have the container when it is open because they say I will make a mess but once it is closed again, I get it back. The container is a compact metal personal size that is about the size of a quarter; just the perfect size for me to carry around.
Dad and I did not take a nap today because I was too wound up! I spent more time than necessary in solitary confinement today because the parents went to the market and out to Kulkpeni; I napped while I was waiting on them to get back. They brought me a fresh batch of bananas; you see they do love me!
If you haven’t experienced “Robb”; try it! You will like it!
