Our freezer died today! It took us a few days to realize that it was not freezing! This is the freezer that we were keeping the frozen fruit for Skeeter in. The fruit was still frosty so we cleared out a place for it in the refrigerator freezer by removing all the non-perishable items like beans, rice, flour and corn meal; all the stuff that I keep in the freezer to keep the bugs out. We went to town as soon as we finished our walk this morning and bought a new one. We were so happy that they actually had a few models in Yendi; in the past we would have had to make a trip to Tamale to get one. We feel certain that Boat, the refrigerator repair man can repair it but we could not wait for him to work on it. He is a Muslim so he does not work on Friday. If he has to order parts it might take a few days to get it fixed. We do not really need another freezer but I told Steve that this would be a good thing because now we would have a dedicated freezer for Skeeter’s food while we are gone and when the masons are working on building projects we will have a freezer for the bagged water. We decided that we will put Skeeter’s freezer on the far side of the veranda so that the food will be available when Donkey and Mr. Iddrisu need it. Right now when they need food Mr. Iddrisu has to open the mission house to get it. The more we think about it the more we like this plan.
Steve worked on the Withholding Tax today; we are now waiting on the formula to come in so we can enter that receipt.
Red went over to Tamale this morning to pick my brother Paul’s truck from the air conditioner repair man. He called a little while ago and said that the clutch had gone out again. He said that he was thinking about replacing the clutch. He is going to have to spend the night in Tamale; he might be spending a couple nights depending upon what he decides to do with the truck. If it is not one thing it is 2 others!
Steve has just about exhausted himself cutting tree branches! He had the big extension ladder stretched out as far as he could so he could cut off all the branches. It looks really good!
The lady with the baby that the doctor suspects has Cerebral Palsy is back in Tamale at the hospital. She called and said that she needed money for medicine yesterday and today she called and she needed money for some sort of lab test; she did not know what test they were going to do.
Please keep us and the work in your prayers!

The Monkeyshines
I know there are environmental protection agencies and I need someone to call one for me! Dad has totally ruined my habitat! He hacked up all the trees around my jail cell! He destroyed my tree branch highway! I intend to get a lawyer and make a formal complaint! I may have a case for monkey abuse on top of the environmental damage! He cut some of the branches that are shading the prison yard! I think that it is monkey abuse to have to exercise in the sun! I have delicate skin underneath all this hair; notice I said hair and not fur! Animals have fur and I am not an animal! Did you know that my skin is actually blue? I am not kidding; it is really blue. Of course my face and hands are black but my tummy and inside my legs and arms are blue. You see I think that blue skin would burn very quickly; further proof of monkey abuse!
I was not happy with the condition of my frozen food! It was not pretty when Mom refroze it! It looked like one big frozen block of watermelon; mango and whatever else she froze! How in the world does she expect me to eat a block of frozen fruit? That would surely give me a brain freeze!
Send me the number for the nearest EPA office!
Love, Skeeter
