We visited the congregation at Nalongni this morning. This is the same area we visited last Sunday. Today the congregation at Sobibito was visiting as part of a monthly joint service.  I really thought we were going to have a lot of rain this morning but we only had one or two sprinkles while we were at the church building.

Before services started we walked over to the chief’s house to greet the regent and let him know we were in town. The old chief died almost 3 years ago so the village hasn’t chosen a new chief yet.

The church decided not to have bible class and allow us the extra time so we could have question and answers. My lesson topic for the morning dealt with the Holy Spirit and how He works today. We had a great question and answer period after services.

One sister told us what happened to her this week. She said she was picking up groundnut (peanuts) vines in the farm when she reached down to grab a handful of the vines not knowing she also grabbed a cobra along with the vines.  She was very happy she didn’t get bitten by the snake.

After closing and heading for Yendi we stopped twice in the village to visit church members.  The first was to encourage a wayward member and his wife to come back to services. They have been missing services for some time now.  We also visited the house of one of the female church members who was absent from services today because she had been stung on her right foot by a scorpion. We left her a little cash for more pain medicine if needed and we also had prayer for her.

We stopped at the first bridge outside of the village.  Eight teenagers wanted to be baptized into Christ. Brother Joseph Kumasi did the honors.  We were so happy to be a part of this occasion. After the baptisms we had prayer.  It was a great day!

The Daka River near Kulkpeni is really starting to flood all the lowland it travels through.  The weather is cooler but the mosquitoes are everywhere which is bad for the people due to malaria; especially for the smaller children.

Hope you all had a great Lord’s Day.  May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
