Divine stopped at the mission house early this morning on his way to Tamale with the documents to deliver at the Registrar General’s office. He called this afternoon and said that the man he was supposed to see was sick so he was going to spend the night and try to be the first person at the office in the morning.
Zorash called the land office for us this morning and they said that their computers were still not working so they could not generate the bill for the land registration. Please! At least we did not make a trip over there for nothing or we would have been spending the night in Tamale like Divine is.
This morning one of the doctors from Yendi Hospital came for a visit. Steve met him a few weeks ago when he was helping with the screening at the various high schools. He said that he was not working today because he was on vacation so he decided to come and see the Child Center. He stayed for about 1 ½ hours. Just before he left two men came from the disease control office. We had never met these men. They were very nice. They said that they were the officers in charge of our area of Yendi. It is nice to know who to refer people to. We showed them the ulcerated leg of the man from Kulkpanga. They would like him to come to the office.
This morning we took the green truck to the mechanic to have the oil changed and for him to check the front hub; it is has 4 wheel drive and we noticed that the grease was coming out from around the hub. We were not sure that was going on. When Gomda pulled the hub off he said that nothing was holding it on. He said that we were lucky that it did not break down on us in the bush. The hubs cannot be bought in Yendi but Gomda checked with the man that has an old truck like ours and he bought the hub off that truck and replaced it with ours. If he had not found one he would have had to send to the junk yard in Kumasi to get it.
It is thundering and thinking about raining; we heard a few sprinkles but nothing serious yet. Please keep us and the need for rain in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
