Today was the second full day of the seminar.  Perry spoke at the morning session on church growth, focusing on congregational growth.  The evening session was the Question-and-Answer session.  There were numerous questions, some about the seminar topic, but many about other issues facing the church members.  This session lasted for a couple of hours.  There were 574 people who were fed at the seminar today, as some people did not arrive until today.  Following the last session as it was nearing dark, we gave everyone a Glow Stick bracelet.  It is a very simple gift, but one that the Ghanaians had not seen before.  They were excited to get them – even all of the adults wanted one.

It was a very hot day.  The Harmattan (the winds which blow in the dust from the Sahara Desert) was not strong today.  This is a blessing in one sense, as the air is cleaner and breathing is a bit easier.  However, the dust also provides a buffer from the burning sunshine and makes the temperature a bit more bearable.  Kandie continued to provide me with updates on the temperature today.  At nine this morning it was already 92 degrees, with a heat index of 102.  The highest temperature I recall was 103, with a heat index of 108.  I told Kandie that I really thought it would be better if she just didn’t tell me the actual temperature.  I know it is hot, but hearing the numbers just makes it seem even hotter!

The seminar will be ending tomorrow, and the large task of gathering up all of the supplies and hauling them back to the house is ahead of us.  Perhaps some cooler temperatures will be in store for us – haha.

Thanks to all for your continued support and prayers.
