Meri did not come to work again today; she is still sick with the cough; she probably caught it from one of her kids. Sure wish they were doing the Covid testing around here; we would send her to be tested; meanwhile please stay far away for me!
Mr. Iddrisu came to work but then he got called back to his house. He has a niece that lives with him and someone wants to marry her. The boy’s parents sent a group of family members to visit Mr. Iddrisu today to work out the details of the marriage and the dowry. I am anxious for him to come back to work tomorrow so I can hear all the details.
As soon as we finished our walk this morning we loaded the bicycle that we bought for the church leader at Yowando into the back of the truck and carried it to Timothy’s house. The guy will pass by Timothy’s house on his way into Yendi so it will be easy for him to get the bike. Steve noticed that the pedals were worn so we stopped in town and bought a new set of pedals and a seat cover for the bike. Daniel should be happy with the gift.
Around noon today we had Zorash go to town with us. We have been searching in vain for raincoats for the watchmen. Today is market day and we thought that if we had an interpreter with us we would have better luck finding them but even with extra assistance we could not find any coats. The watchmen did find heavy winter coats to wear in the night and they got the chargeable flashlights; they are not doing too bad.
Someone came to the mission house selling plantain this morning so we bought some for ourselves and some for all of the workers. They were happy with the gift. It takes so little to make them happy!
This afternoon I wrote up some of the minutes from the meetings we had a week or so ago. It is a good thing I took notes or I would not have remembered half of what we discussed! Old age!
We got the washing done which is always a chore! At least it is still raining and we have plenty of water. I would like to get the curtains washed before the dry season sets in but really it is not very high on my “To Do List.”
Take care and please keep us and the work in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
