We spent a couple hours hanging razor wire this morning before it got too hot. Steve said we were more than half way finished hanging the wire. Nazo helped us when he came to work. Zorash said she did not have anything to do today so she came to help me cut fabric squares.
Papa Zacharia, one of the night watchmen came this morning to pick up his pay. While he was here we decided to go and visit the Balogu chief. Papa is also a sub chief and Nazo goes to the Ya-Naa’s palace every day after work. Papa, Nazo and Zorash went to see the chief. He met us in his throne room. They are in the process of building him a new palace. There is a small room next to the throne room that houses his horse. It is someone’s job to feed, water and clean up after the horse. Not a job I want. The chief was sitting on a cement platform on a bunch of rawhide skins from cattle. He was happy to see us. He is one of the chiefs that own the land in the area where the mission house is located.
When we got back to the mission house the workers said that we had not visited the Regent since he became a chief and moved to Tamale. We were quick to tell them that we had already visited him and that Zorash had visited him too. Amama and a group of her friends also went to visit him. It seems that only the men had not visited him. This was our cue to tell them that we would take a day off and go to Tamale to visit him. We told them that we would set a day and go for a visit. No harm in keeping the wheels greased.
My Kindle has stopped charging! It probably got fried with this terrible electricity. Last time we were over here it fried Steve’s C-Pap machine and he had to get another one. He bought an adapter and is now running it off a car battery.
Timothy Niligrini has gone to Tamale for a couple days to attend the graduation of last year’s batch of preacher students. Timothy is one of the board members and a past graduate so he is compelled to attend the graduations. This year they had a mini seminar before the graduation for Bible School teachers. Matthew and another brother from Kulkpeni were planning on going when they found out that it was just for women.
Please keep the work in your prayers and say a special prayer for my brother Buz who has ALS and his family; he had a rough night last night. I know he would appreciate the prayers.
In His Service,
Steve and Kandie
