When Kandie, Timothy Niligrini and I arrived at the village of Duuni this morning we were told that Brother Francis wasn’t present.   He had gone over to Saboba for a wedding.  Francis had gotten his dates mixed up. He thought we were coming last week.  We told the brethren we didn’t mind if Francis wasn’t around; we would still be happy to worship with them. This pleased the brethren.

We had enough time to drive over to the chief’s house to greet him. It took him a while to come out. He was changing his clothes.  When he emerged from his round house he was wearing a nice multicolored Fugu. (The traditional dress of the northerner) When he recognized us a big smile came on his face.  Kandie made over him when he sat down which caused him to laugh.  After giving him the kola Kandie took a photo of the chief since he had gotten all cleaned up to meet us.  We will make a 8×10 photo and give it to him when we return from the states.

The leaders of the congregation gave me the bible class and preaching time.  The congregation is one of the larger Churches we work with and there were a lot of people inside the room; 160 including women and children to be exact. . It was hot today. I didn’t use all the time allotted to me.  I spoke on the “Tongue” from James 3:1-12.

There were a lot of good questions raised after services during the question and answer time.  I was so surprised they kept asking questions because the building was so hot. After 45 minutes of questions we closed the question and answer session. I think they enjoyed asking the questions as much as Timothy and I liked answering the questions.

Before we left the brothers said they were sorry they didn’t have anything to give us.  Our reply was they had given us some very good questions and that was a very nice gift.  They all smiled with appreciation.

We arrived back at the house safe and sound.  After Kandie and I ate and rested we worked on the books for the audit. We think we have the audit books finished as of today.

This evening I spoke about Zacchaeus from Luke 19 at Kulkpeni.  It is a fun lesson to teach.

I will bring this Yendi Notes to a close.  We hope you are having a good Lord’s Day.  Keep us in your prayers and we will do the same for you.  May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
