I thought I was going to have a panic attack this morning.  I got to looking over the paper work Divine has been helping us do and I thought that 6 batches of the paper work had not been filed.  I called Divine and told him that I thought that we had made a mistake.  He was very calm and assured me that no mistakes had been made.  You know there is always the “language barrier” thing going on with us.  I begged Divine to come to the mission house and look over the paper work.  As soon as he looked he knew why I was worried.  The problem was not that the papers had not been filed; the problem was that we have not been able to pick up the completed copies.  I was of all people most happy!  Divine thought my distress was quite funny and he had a good laugh; at my expense!  You know he thinks we are crazy to worry about every little thing but he does not realize that we are not Ghanaians and if we do not follow the letter of the law we can be kicked out of Ghana.  He is a Ghanaian and will always be a Ghanaian and be able to live here.

Still no rain; there was lots of thunder and lightening last night while we were having Bible study.  We got to enjoy the show because we were sitting outside; it was too hot to meet in the building.  But nothing came from all the activity.

The river where Yendi gets her drinking water from is no longer flowing.  It divided sometime last week.  The water tankers are fetching water from the village on the other side of Kulkpeni.  Don’t know how long that water will last.  When Divine was here he told us that the water in the dam at Kpamang is getting low and it is very thick.  There is still water in the dam.  He was going to try and buy some water treatment chemicals in town.  We told him that we still had some from the time when we had to use river water.  He was happy we shared with him.  The chemical causes the solids to clump together and fall to the bottom of the water.

Mr. Iddrisu got the metal door for the round house painted today; it looks good.  We want the mason to come this week but we are not sure we will be able to get a load of water.  We don’t need a full load; part of a load will do.  Mr. Iddrisu will call the water hauler tomorrow.

Steve took down the sign board outside the Child Center this afternoon.  He wanted to re-letter it but it was too rusty and needed to be totally repainted.  We took it to the sign painter this afternoon.

Nazo does not like the metal American rake we brought from the states.  We have put off buying the native rakes hoping that he would get used to using the metal one but it is not going to happen so we broke down this afternoon and bought him 10 native rakes.  He will be happy when he comes to work in the morning.

Thank you for all you do for us and for the work.  We appreciate your help.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
