We have been busy all day today. This morning, we passed out 111 sets of baby’s and children’s clothes. We knew that it would not be long before word got out that we were having a clothes distribution.
The mother with the baby that has Cerebral Palsy came this morning. This is the baby that we sent to Tamale to have Steve’s suspected diagnosis confirmed. Please the doctors in Tamale ran test after test and sent the baby from doctor to doctor! Finally, the family got fed up and decided to bring the child home. We fully agreed with their decision. This morning Steve went to town and bought a baby stroller for the child so that she does not have to spend her life lying on the floor. The mother was happy with the gift. Baby strollers are very expensive here when compared to the minimum wage.
This afternoon we went to town to pick up the formula that Steve ordered yesterday. The workers never remember to tell us that they are running short of something until they are almost out. They really live from day to day. Yesterday Zorash told us that they had opened their last box of formula and did not have enough for the day. Steve ordered 15 cases but it was not coming today so I went to town to see what I could find. Fortunately, I found 3 cases.
While we were out and about, we bought communion juice for the church and bottled water for our house. The fan on the air conditioning unit in the green truck stopped working so we stopped by Gomda’s mechanic shop to see when he could work on it. We will take it tomorrow morning.
The carpenter made 10 church benches for us to give to the churches when we visit them. We promised the church that we visited on Sunday two of the benches. They are supposed to pick the benches up on Friday at the monthly class. Steve picked the benches up just before supper.
We stopped by the bank to give them back the extra money that we got yesterday but the manager was not around. Steve did not want to leave it with anyone else because he wanted to make sure that it got back where it belonged. We will try again tomorrow.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your day!

I spent the entire morning at the Child Center! The highlight of my morning was when Dad bought boiled peanuts for the workers; I got some too! Mom was working but every once in a while, she would throw one to me. I was getting very good about jumping up in the air to try to catch them. I never really caught one but I was getting better and better. One day I am going to get one! Mom said that I wouldn’t have any trouble catching them if I would just sit there and wait for it to come to me but where is the fun in that? I love to try to catch them mid jump!
This afternoon I figured out how to get the balls out of a toy that Mom brought from the states. The toy has lots of small balls about the size of a ping pong ball inside. The toy is a cube with strips of elastic on all the sides. I am supposed to put my hand between the elastic and pull out the balls but that is pretty creepy! I just know those bands are going to catch my arm and I will never get free so I sort of paw at the balls and run away. Well, today I got one of them free! I was so excited. The ball is just the right size for me to carry around; of course, I can’t get around very fast but I love that ball. I tucked it under my arm and carried it most of the afternoon! There is a bell inside the ball which makes it even better! A little while ago I knocked another ball out of the toy; now I am confused. I cannot carry both the balls at the same time. When I put one down it rolls away. I may have to learn to walk upright on my hind legs to fix the problem!
I am frustrated!
