We had to go back to Tamale today.  We worked in the Center until about 11:00 and then headed to Tamale.  We were going back to the Land Commission office to try and finish the paper work on the land papers.   We had to stop by the bank and get more money before we could go to the land office and pay the final fees.

We had to wait for 2 hours at the land commission for them to write up the receipt.  Zorash was with us again today.  She was so put out about it taking so long for them to write the receipt.  Finally the waiting became such a joke that we would just look at each other, roll our eyes and laugh.  After we finally got the receipt we went to the Town and Country Planning office to pick up the receipt that they could not give us on Friday because the electricity was off and the person writing the receipts went home for the day.  We waited another hour for them to write the receipt.  We would probably still be waiting if Zorash had not gone to the accountant’s office and asked for the receipt.

We made it to the Vodafone Phone office just before they closed to check to see if they had decided to credit our account with the money that was left when they put our account on “inactive” status.  They had not been able to make a decision as to whether they were going to reactivate the account or if they were going to give us a credit toward pre-paid phone units.  They told us to check back when we come back to Ghana after our leave.  Please!

On the way back to the mission house we drive through Kulkpeni where we attend Wednesday evening Bible study.  As we passed through we noticed that they had already set the benches outside of the building in preparation for Bible study.  We knew that we were going to be late for the class but we had to take Zorash home.  As soon as we got to the mission house we unloaded the truck, sprayed ourselves for mosquitoes, grabbed a bottle of water and headed back to Kulkpeni.  Joshua had just started the lesson when we got there.  They said that they had seen us pass and did not expect us to come back for the service.

We are happy that we have finally jumped through all the hoops with the land papers; we now have to wait for them to be filed and sent to the head office in Accra.  They said it will take several months for them to finish with all the paper work they have to do but for the moment we are free!!

Take care and please pray for rain for our area

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
