Well, things didn’t go as planned this morning.  We had scheduled a visit with the Church at Nalongni located southwest of Kulkpeni about 12-15 miles. If you will remember last week Timothy Niligrini was not feeling well so we left him behind.  Today he was feeling better but his symptoms last week caused me to suspect he could have the virus; arm and leg pains, headache, and abdominal discomfort.  This morning he said his family had been having similar symptoms this week which made us even more leery so I suggested that Timothy ride his motorcycle to the village.  Timothy agreed.  A few minutes later he called back. He changed his mind. He said if he didn’t ride with us they would ask why. If they found out he had been sick and the people in the village got the coronavirus they would blame him for bringing it to them. Then the Ghana Health service might get involved.  The people find it extremely hard to social distance, wear masks, and meet in small groups. Yesterday, they had a big funeral at Kulkpeni where Timothy lives.  It is a perfect breeding ground for the spreading of the virus.  The people live for funeral celebrations so attendance is extremely important to everyone.  We decided it was best to cancel the trip and reschedule.

Yesterday Abdula-ganu, the young man missing a leg came back to us with the amount it will cost for his new prosthetic leg; 3,500 GH Cedis ($700).  They informed him the team that will examine him and do his paper work is scheduled to be in Yendi on January 17, 2021; they will schedule when he is to travel down south to be fitted and for rehab.  The family will supply the food and transport money and thanks to a generous sponsor we have the money to pay for the prosthetic leg.

The mason finished up the first phase of the building project today. They made the flat grain drying area which is attached to the front left corner of the veranda. Late this afternoon the water tanker brought more water that we will use to water the concrete slab for drying the grain.

Our eldest granddaughter Faith has been diagnosed with presumptive Covid 19.  Presently she is doing well.  Her elder brother Taylor is not feeling well either. The whole family is quarantined.

We hope everyone is safe and those that are sick we pray for your speedy recovery.

That wraps up another Lord’s Day.  May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
