The rain started falling before the day dawned and continued till 9am. We were scheduled to visit the Church at Jagrido so I telephone Timothy to see if it was raining at Kulkpeni. He said it was but we would try to meet him at his house about 9:30.   Timothy’s three oldest kids went with us this morning. The church building is located a stone throw from their grandparents house.

Before we started services I asked the men what subject they would like for me to speak about.  After a few minutes it was decided that I should teach about the Lord’s Supper. There is much misinformation  about the Lord’s Supper. Many of these ideas come out of denominationalism such as:

1.      If you  have a problem with a church member or family member you can’t take it

2.      If you don’t feel worthy because of sin in your life you can’t take it

3.      You  can take it anytime that you want like weddings, etc

4.      The L.S. when taken cleanses you of sin

5.      The bread and juice turns into flesh and blood of Christ when taken

Timothy’s older brother Daniel lead the bible class and I preached with Timothy interpreting .

A neighborhood dog came into the building this morning.   Kandie was sitting near the door which is close to the corner of the building.  The dog decided he was going to lay down in this corner .  He had more flies on him than a sticky fly trap. In one swift motion Kandie wheeled around in her chair and  swatted the dog with her notebook so he would move the flies away from her. It caught the dog off guard and he let out a big yelp   before running outside. You could hear the snickering from the audience when that occurred but the cloud of flies went with the dog!

After services the crocheted hats were distributed to the children. Boy, were they a hit!  Kandie was sure to take a picture of everyone wearing their hat.

On our way out of the village we stopped at the chief’s house to greet him. The Jagrido chief is a paramount chief so we like to make sure we see him when possible.  While we were under the tree visiting him a man came up asking if we could help him take his motorcycle that had broken down in the village to Yendi.   There were two men and a young lady that rode back with us .  We dropped off the girl at Timothy’s house and the  two men went with us to Yendi where we dropped them off at a motorcycle fitter (mechanic).

Later this afternoon we went back out to Kulkpeni where we had a naming ceremony for Tichak’s daughter that had a baby girl. I spoke for 5-10 minutes.  The family chose the  name “Lordina” for the child. When the baby celebration was over I started a bible class lesson on marriage. There was lots of discussion. The class went for an hour and I hadn’t finished the first page so we will continue next week.  As the proverb says “One’s brain can only absorb as much as one’s bottom can endure!”

We hope you are having a good Lord’s Day. Please keep us in your prayers and we will do the same for you. May God bless!

In His service,

Stephen & Kandie Taylor
