The mason said that he would be finished with the rooms today so we went out there late this afternoon. He had not even started the apron around the building. He does not work on Sunday; hopefully he will be able to finish on Monday. The building is looking really good!
Donkey sprayed the lane leading to the back of the property this morning. It was in desperate need of being sprayed. The grass was waist high! He also sprayed around all of the buildings. When we walked back there yesterday, we noticed that someone had planted beans between one of the buildings and the bath house! Now I ask you how can anyone access the bath house if there are beans planted in front of it! We knew that it had to be either Mr. Iddrisu or Donkey; we have repeatedly told them that they could not plant around the buildings. Mr. Iddrisu said that he was the one that planted the beans. We asked him why when we have told him not to plant around the building. He said that, “We thought that you just did not want the tractor to plow around the buildings; we cleared the land with a hoe.” Really! The truth be told he planted there because the area had been sprayed for weeds and it was easy to plant. We told him not to do it next year. We will see what happens next year.
Mr. Iddrisu got the motor king started and he took one of the 4×4 foot water containers from the mission house out to Kulkpeni. We will need 2 containers when they start the wall. While he was at Kulkpeni he hauled the cement that the men will need to plaster the apron around the building.
I spent almost all-day washing fabric. I told Steve that I was weary of loading and unloading the washing machine. We pull the water out of the machine and pour it in the yard so as not to stress the septic tank that has no field lines. Steve hauled dozens and dozens of buckets of water today and still I am not finished. I decided to let this last load soak overnight in hopes that the dye will leach out. Fortunately, the reservoir is overflowing with water!
We went to the market this afternoon to buy some fruits and vegetables. We also needed to get passport pictures made for both the visa renewal and the Social Welfare report. While we were in town Steve bought a barbecued guinea fowl so I do not have to cook supper tonight! Lucky me!
Take care,

When the parents were in the market today, they bought a new fruit that I have never tried before. In fact, the parents have never tried it either! The lady that was selling them called them black berries; they obviously were not black berries! They came off of a tree. They are about the size of Mom’s thumb. They have a big seed; with a little bit of edible flesh around the outside. They are sweet and taste sort of like a date. I thought they were lovely! I put the whole seed into my mouth and it stretched my cheek pouch out so far that I looked like I had a growth on the side of my face. Mom laughed at me and took my picture.
Mom said that she thinks I am addicted to hand sanitizer. I love to get the bottle and lick the top! Mom says that it can’t be good for me but every chance she gets she douses me with hand sanitizer; not only does she put it on my hands but she puts it on my feet and my tail! She says that my hands are nasty and she has no idea where they have been! Isn’t that silly? I know exactly where they have been; they have been attached to my arms; it is not like I can remove them and leave them lying around! She has been using hand sanitizer on me since I was a baby! Is it really a surprise that I like it?
No “12 Step” program for me!
