Yendi Notes

We are back in Tamale.  Steve talked to the accountant’s secretary on Monday and he assured us that the annual audit would be ready to be signed today.  We were supposed to leave for Sunyani tomorrow.  To get to Sunyani we have to pass through Tamale so we decided to come to Tamale this afternoon; pick up the audit; spend the night in Tamale and head out early tomorrow for Sunyani.  I bet you can tell where this story is going!  You guessed it!  The audit was not ready so we came early for nothing.  We will be staying an extra day in Tamale on our way back from Sunyani. We are going to a seminar in Sunyani that is being held by Bro. Richard.  Bro. Richard came to Yendi and held a seminar for us a couple years ago.  They are opening a new preacher training school in his area and we want to support his efforts.

We did not leave Yendi today until we had closed the Child Center.  Mr. Iddrisu came back to work today.  He said that he thinks he had malaria.  He began to feel much better after he took the malaria medicine. He was still a little tired today.  He will take medicine for several days to make sure that he has gotten rid of the malaria.

Timothy Niligrini has 2 dogs.  His older dog has gotten too old to have puppies but his younger dog just had her first litter of puppies.  She had 9 puppies!  Can you imagine?  That is a bunch of puppies for a first time mother.  Zorash called Timothy and told him that she wanted 3 male puppies.  She wants them for her family members.  She got a puppy several weeks ago from Divine for her sister.  She said that the puppy is covered with ticks.  She wanted to know if there is a home remedy that will kill the ticks.  I told her to pick them off of him.  She said that she was trying but there are hundreds and hundreds of them.  If anyone that reads the notes knows of a home remedy to kill ticks please let us know.  I have heard that Pine Sol and pine scented stuff repels them but that is not available here.

While we were eating supper at the hotel restaurant I bit something and broke off a big chunk of one of my back teeth.  Fortunately it has not started hurting.  If it starts hurting we might have to make a trip to either Kumasi or Accra.  I hope I can wait until we get back to the states in the middle of June.

Please pray for us while we are traveling.  We have never been to Sunyani; it is about 6 ½ hours from Yendi.  We are driving the new RED pickup so we should not have any vehicle trouble.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
