The hot weather is back. The high temperature today was 110 degrees with a heat index of 137 degrees. Too hot for man and beast!
We were out in the heat this afternoon because we had to take a sign board to the painter to have it painted for one of the churches that did not get one the last time we had sign boards painted. While we were out we went to the market to find small plastic containers for the “PPP”. The PPP is the special protein paste we make for the malnourished children. It is made from ground roasted peanuts, powder milk, sugar and salt. It is quite tasty and a spoonful a few times a day will give the child enough protein for the day. We found some nice containers which was a pleasant surprise. We bought 80 containers. The lady selling told us to come back on market day and she would have more for us. The mothers are supposed to bring the containers back each time they come so 80 will last a long time.
The air conditioner in our bedroom is not fixed! Hum! Are we surprised? Not really because he did not do anything to it except clean it and add more gas. It would only run for a few minutes and then cut off. While it was running it was cooling but then the fan just died. Boat came back out this morning and said that the air conditioner had disappointed him! Me too! He took the inside unit to his shop to work on the fan. He said he will have it done in a couple days. Meanwhile we moved back to the spare room. No complaints from us because that room is cool.
This morning we started working in one of the bedroom in the apartment. We are trying to get it ready for a guest that is coming on Friday. His name is Sampson. He is going to stay for 4 days. The apartment is a wreck. We are just trying to get one room clean enough for him to stay in. The room has carpet if you can imagine! Carpet in the tropics in an unsealed house with all this dust! What was my mom thinking when she had that stuff glued down? Well we pulled it out this afternoon. It was so nasty. The water had leaked on it when the roof was off earlier this year. The carpet has been down for 18 years and has never been cleaned because there are no carpet cleaning machines in this area. The floor is rough because of the glue but it is better than the carpet. Later we will paint the floor. At least it is now clean!
Thank you for the love, prayers and support.
In His Service,
