I guess I was really jet-lagged last night when I dated the Notes for the 23rd and 24th since today is the 24th. I meant to write “22nd and 23rd” but I hope you all will forgive me.
This morning we slept till 7:30. We both crashed last night around 9 pm. The driver and the van we hired showed up around 9:20 this morning to take us to the airport. Everything went along fine until it was just about time (11:30 am) to board the plane and we were told our flight had been delayed due to the inbound plane that was scheduled to take us was not on time. We finally left Accra around 1pm. Half way to Tamale the pilot said over the loud speaker we were turning back to Accra due to some bad weather (heavy rain) at Tamale. We waited in Accra airport for the rain to clear. Finally we arrived at Tamale airport about 4:30 this afternoon. Red wasn’t able to pick us up at the airport so we had to rent two taxis to take us to the hotel. He will come in the morning to pick us up and take us to Yendi. Red couldn’t come today because he had to attend his uncle’s funeral.
We have had a nice Indian meal at the hotel restaurant this evening so we will sleep well tonight. Thanks for your prayers for our trip. We will definitely keep all of you in our prayers.
