Divine, the teacher/farmer/part time evangelist sent someone that was coming to Yendi with a copy of his report on his trip to Wa.  He made the trip to meet with some of the churches in that area that were interested in registering the churches.  We have not gotten a chance to talk to Divine since we came back.  According to his report he was well received and the churches are doing well.

Steve talked to Enoch today; Enoch is the preacher that works in Wa.  Enoch has a 19 year old son that needs surgery to straightened/repair his leg so he can walk normally.  He had made an appeal to my brother Paul.  Steve was the go-between for transferring the money.  It still amazes me that we are able to send “mobile money” through the cell phone.  It just does not seem right somehow.  We hung around in town to make sure that the money was credited to Enoch’s account.  Now that he has the money in hand they can proceed with the surgery.  Enoch will have to bear most of the expenses for the surgery.  Health insurance in Ghana does not pay for much; it will cover the bed and a couple meals but the rest is on the family.

I spent most of the day cutting out dresses and shorts.  I got a couple dresses made; they are very cute.  I went to the market a couple days ago looking for fabric and I spied used pillowcases.  There were some really nice pillowcases that had cute designs.  The guy charged me 1.50 Cedis which is less than 30 cents per pillowcase; that pretty cheap for a dress.  I know that they jacked the price up on me because I am so beautiful!  I figure that if Timothy wants to buy them they will sell them to him for 1 Cedi.  Timothy does not want to make the regular pillowcase dresses so I experimented and made 2 more traditional dresses out of the pillowcases and they were cute.

Steve spent a good portion of the day trimming up the shrubbery around the mission house and the Child Center.  Oh! News Flash!  There are very few bats in the mango tree.  They obviously did not appreciate the razor wire.  This morning a bat had gotten entangled in the wire.  Maybe he has been shouting “Danger! Danger!” to his bat friends!

Thank you for all you do for us!  We appreciate the help!

In His Service,
