We started giving the small children that came to the Child Center stuffed bears that some of the ladies had made. The mothers seemed to like the “toys” better than the children. Some of the children were too small to appreciate them. Word will get out and we will have more mothers tomorrow.
The father of a one year old came to ask for help with medical expenses. The child is going to have to have extensive surgery and the father needed money for the tests. The tests are expensive but not nearly as expensive as the surgery will be. Thanks to your generous donations for “whatever comes up” we were able to help the family begin the process.
A new set of preemie twins came to the Center this morning. There was nothing wrong with the babies except that they were very small. We gave the little boy and girl preemie clothes, socks and hats. The mother was very happy with the tiny clothes.
Zorash was back at work this morning. She was still exhausted from being sick. She said that she had been very sick and was happy that she was finally feeling better.
Red stopped by this afternoon to take the measurements for a cover for the gutter. The road department has contracted to have the road in front of the lane that leads to the mission house paved. While we were gone they graded the road and put gutters on each side of the road; there’s nothing to cover the gutter so we cannot turn down the lane to get to the mission house. We have to drive through the neighbor’s yard to get to the gate. Yesterday Nazo back filled the area on both sides of the gutter. Red is going to make a “cattle crossing” type cover so we can drive the vehicles over it.
Solomon the motorcycle mechanic called this morning with an estimate to fix Timothy’s motorcycle. He made quick work of the job and Timothy was able to pick up the motorcycle this afternoon.
Today was Yendi’s big market day; we all went and wandered all over the market looking for fabric with spiders on it. Of course as we were looking we found other fabric that caught our fancy! Jack even bought a piece; now he has to decide what his is going to have made out of the fabric.
Please keep us and the work in your prayers.
In His Service,
Steve , Kandie. Dahlia, and Jack
