We got rain!!  It is raining as I am writing the notes.  In fact Steve and I got drenched.  We had gone to the back end of the property to reattach the razor wire.  Some of the neighbors had taken the razor wire loose and were crossing over the wall so they could poop on the mission property.  So disgusting!  Nazo lives on the other side of the wall at the back end of the property.  He said that he tries to tell them that it is private property and they should not be climbing the wall to poop but they don’t pay him any mind.  He said that the problem is that there are no public toilets (outhouses) in that community and so many houses are being built that there is no bush left to poop in.  Almost every time that we come we have to reattach the razor wire.  We started the project this morning but it was so hot that I got over heated and after a couple hours I had to come back to the house to cool down.  We made the mistake of not taking any water with us.  We went back out again around 4:00 and had only worked for about an hour before it started to rain.  There are 12 acres on the mission property but the property is long and skinny and “L” shaped.  We were at the back corner when the rain started.  It took us a while to get up to the house; we were soaked by the time we got here but we did not care because we were getting desperate for rain.  Maybe it will rain all night.  Of course the electricity is off but we don’t care about that either because we have a generator.

Zorash brought a magnet out of a loud speaker for the man from Wadiig that has the grinding mill that we helped repair a couple days ago.  The reason his grinding plate broke was because a metal nut was in the corn he was grinding and when it came through it broke the plate.   The corn is usually thrashed on the ground and then swept up; it has nails, nuts, stones, goat poop and who knows what else in it.  Zorash said that she always put a magnet in the hopper to catch anything that might damage the grinding mill.  I asked Zorash why the women didn’t pick the corn before they ground it; she said that they think that if they pick out the pieces of corn cob; sticks and other things they will end up with less corn to cook.  Well, yes they would have less corn but it would be a better quality.  Zorash is no longer running her grinding mill; she could not make any money because everyone wanted to grind on credit or for free.  She sold the grinding mill and is trying to think of something else to do with the building.  Divine stopped by and picked up the magnet on his way home from the market.  Wadiig is a couple villages past Divine’s village.

Thank you for the prayer!

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
