The day started very early for me; like 3am. I couldn’t go back to sleep after waking up at 1:30 this morning so I tossed and turned until 3 so I got up. My taxi picked me up at 4:30 to take me to the airport. The plane was scheduled to fly at 6:30 am. As I was waiting on the bus that takes the passengers to the plane I noticed I didn’t have my cell phone. I rushed off the bus and beg permission to check where I had been sitting. Nothing! We were taken out to the plane and when we were about to go onto the runway the pilot said we had a fault with the plane and they were taking us back to the terminal while they prepared another plane. Oh joy! I thought I will look round some more for the cell phone. Sure enough, there it lay on a desk near the chair where I was sitting. I thanked the Lord for his help. The plane was about 1 hour late arriving at the Tamale airport where Red picked me up.
Our son-in-law Marcus preached for the congregation at Nakpachee south of Yendi in my absence. In fact I had already told Marcus he was going to preach so it worked out well. Timothy Niligrini interpreted for him. Marcus said he was having a hard time keeping in sync with Timothy interpretation. The experience will help him when he speaks during the seminar. The Church requested help to plaster the inside of their building. We are giving them money for 10 bags of cement and they will match it by buying a load of sand.
After eating a quick lunch we went out of town to the village where we purchase our fire wood for the seminar. Timothy Niligrini house is on the way so we picked him up. We loaded the green pickup down with wood. We off loaded it at Kulkpeni Church building before coming back to the house. The temperature was 114 degrees with a heat index of 139 degrees; talk about a difference in temperature from what we left in Alabama.
The rest of the time was spent working on the payroll and calculating the mandatory increase in the employee’s minimum wage set by the government for the year 2020.
We have a lot of work to get done this week before the seminar starts on Thursday. Please keep us in your prayers.
In His service,
Stephen, Kandie, & Marcus
