Gomda said that he should have the old van fixed this evening. He said that the gear box was somehow loose. He was going to do some replacements and try it out before he gave it back to us. It will be good to have all the vehicles up and running again!
I re-washed the fabric that has been bleeding. I am getting tired of washing the same fabric over and over with no apparent success. I went online and searched to see if anyone had any ideas what to do with the fabric. Several people said to soak the fabric in salt water. Someone else said to add vinegar to the water but vinegar is hard to get over here so I am trying the salt water. They said to leave it for a few hours to overnight; mine is sitting overnight! I am now pickling fabric!
Steve had to call the man at Immigrations that is going to renew our resident visa. One of the documents that was needed was a tax clearance certificate from the Ghana Revenue Authority; we can’t get the certificate ourselves. It has to be sent to the company that is requesting it. So, Steve needed a name and email address to send the certificate to. When he talked to the officer in charge, he was pleased to learn that the document was for businesses, not Non-Profit Organizations. The officer told Steve that there was one additional document they needed so Steve made copies of that too. The file just keeps growing! We are hopeful that we will get a 3-year resident visa again this time.
Sayibu, the electrician came to the mission house today; we thought he was going to be able to finish wiring the round houses that we had new roofs put on last year but he said that he could not put in the fans until the ceiling was put in; the ceiling can’t be put in until all the holes where the roof meets the walls are chinked!
Red stopped by this afternoon; he had been out to Kulkpeni to work on the windows in the new building. He worked on them last week and we explained to the mason how to install the doors; Red even used chalk and marked the top of the windows. The mason set the windows upside down and when the window opens it falls off the hinge. He said that he did not want to hang them upside down. It was easier for Red to weld a stop on the bottom of the hinge than to destroy the cement, block and plaster to turn the windows over. Annoying to say the least! We may have complained about this yesterday but we feel it again today, so we are sharing!
Have a good day!

I have done such a bad thing! This almost got me ban from the house forever! Dad had been getting important documents out of the file cabinet and he left the file cabinet open! Mom was in the kitchen washing fabric. The file cabinet opening was just big enough for me to stick my hand in and pull out some of the papers! I love papers! I love to tear paper! I love to chew on paper! I love to destroy papers! By the time Dad realized what I was doing I had already destroyed 2 file folders and I had paper strewn all over. There were bites and pieces of paper all over my play area! I thought Dad was going to have a stroke! Dad ran and told Mom on me! Mom quickly snatched me up and rushed me to my jail cell! I think she was trying to preserve my life! Mom spent the next hour or so taping documents back together. Some of them looked like a jigsaw puzzle! Fortunately, the newest documents were at the back of the file cabinet so the ones I tore were older documents that Mom is just keeping on file.
When Red was here today, he thought that he would help me by untangling my leash and attaching it to the cabinet that has the dishes in it. I was not having any of that! Mom warned Red not to touch my stuff but he did not listen! When he picked up my leash I lunged at him and got hold of his pant leg! He jumped back because I scared him! If he had not been wearing long pants he would have felt me!
Don’t Touch My Stuff!
