Our first order of business was to go to town and try to find the tailor that was making a pair of pants for Jack. Jack wanted a pair of traditional Dagomba pants; he asked Timothy to make them but Timothy refused because he is a Konkomba and does not know how to make Dagomba pants. The pants are very strange. They have a waist that is at least 4 times larger than the person and the legs are tapered so narrow at the ankle that it is a struggle to get your foot in. Of course the waist is cinched in with a draw string. The pants were supposed to be ready on Monday; we went to the tailor shop 3 times but could not find the tailor. Jack and Nazo went to town and finally they had success getting the pants. They were ridiculous! Jack had picked a very busy guinea fowl fabric and he looked like a clown! It did not take him long to decide that the pants were not going to work for him. Later in the afternoon we made a run out to Kulkpeni and gave the pants to Timothy. He is going to take them apart and make a traditional pair of pants. They will be bold and bright but might be something Jack can lounge around in.

Eighty babies passed through the Child Center. We knew that the numbers would be up because we were giving away the teddy bears. Some of the smallest babies got crocheted hats instead of teddy bears. We will run out of bears soon and the mothers that did not get one for their child will be sad.

After we dropped off Jack’s pants we stopped at Zorash’s house and picked her up so she could go to the seamstress with us so Dahlia could get a couple dresses made.

While we were out running around Steve and Mr. Iddrisu went to visit Abdulai Fuseni; the paraplegic that we have been helping for years; he had a “welcome back to Yendi” gift for us. His sister provided him with about 5 pounds of agushie seeds. It is so sweet when people that have nothing somehow find a gift to give. The seeds are usually ground and used to thicken stew; I roasted a few so Jack and Dahlia could sample them. They make a great snack.

Thank you for all you do to support us and the work. We really appreciate the help.

In His Service,
Steve, Kandie, Dahlia and Jack
