Steve made 3 trips to the motor vehicle office before he finally found the man in charge of inspecting and renewals. We have 4 vehicles that road worthy stickers are due. We are so happy that we now have a VELD (motor vehicle) office in Yendi. The office is only an annex office so they cannot physically renew the certificates; they still have to take them over to Tamale to complete them but it saves us a lot of driving time. Naturally, we pay for the service but that is ok too.

Zorash took the day off to go see a cousin of hers in Tamale that is very sick. The workers start their 3-week annual leave Friday. One would have thought that she could have waited to go see her cousin until Friday but her brother is hiring a car to take them to Tamale and back; if she does not get in the car she will have to pay for her own passage to Tamale. Besides, it would not be nearly as much fun going by herself as it will be going with a car load of family!

Divine was here bright and early this morning. He picked up the church documents and the money. We have not heard anything from him yet; hopefully no news is good news! We are just happy that he is willing to do this for the churches.

Matthew, one of the church leaders from Kulkpeni stopped by for a visit this morning. He needed a new pair of reading glasses and the month before the seminar Steve passed out bicycle tires and tubes to all the evangelists and church leaders that attended the monthly class. Matthew was not able to attend because either he was sick or one of his kids were sick but whatever the case he did not get a new tire and tube. Steve told him that he had to come to the mission house to pick it up because if other members saw him getting a tire and tube, they would want one too. He was happy with his gift this morning.

Red finally got his new dump truck with a crane working. We saw him and his truck this morning when we were walking. At least it is up and running and maybe he can make back part of the money he spent on the repairs.

Thank you for all the love, prayers and support! We appreciate everything that you do for us and for the work here in Ghana.

In HIS Service,

Steve, Kandie and Skeeter

The Monkeyshines

Today was a much better day even though I did not think so at first. The Ghanaian I saw this morning was Divine! I cringed! I thought OH! NO! He is back and he is going to take up all the parents time again today; now I will never get out of solitary confinement!

You can imagine my relief when after only a few minutes I saw him leaving the compound and I knew that I was free!

When Dad went to town I went with Mom down to the Child Center to help with the babies! I chattered at all the men that came in; I am not wild about strange men! Strange men look dangerous so I have to stand on my hind feet and make loud warning sounds! It seems to work pretty well because they always leave in a few minutes. I don’t mind the ladies but sometimes we have “SCREAMERS” and those get on my nerves! They are crying for no reason! I won’t lie, I enjoy seeing those leave!

I played inside and outside all afternoon. Since I can get the front door open, I can come and go as I please; well within reason; I am still on a leash so I don’t have free roam of the house but sometimes Mom misjudges how long my leash is and what I can reach and what I can’t reach. Today I pulled down a whole stack of empty 5-gallon buckets; I got the reading glasses Dad set on the table for Timothy. Fortunately, they were in a hard plastic glass case or they would have been scratched!

They need lessons on how to “Monkey Proof” a house!

Love, Skeeter
