The monthly class was today; Steve was gone until almost 3:00. Of course, Rita, Timothy’s wife, fixes lunch for all the men that attend the class. Steve uses the lunch time to give the men their transport money and any little gift that he has for them. He is always starving when he gets back to the mission house. Today he gave each of the men a polo shirt. We call them polo shirts but some people call them golf shirts; they are the shirts that are made out of tee-shirt material that have a collar and 3 buttons. The men enjoyed getting the shirts. Twenty-six men attended the class this month. The men reported that there were 25 baptisms this month and 3 restorations.
I spent the majority of my time working on a quilt. This is the first time I have had a chance to sew since we have been back to Ghana. I started a scrappy quilt. I have been saving all the pieces of fabric that contained small figures. I am trying to make a “I Spy” quilt. I have no pattern, just an idea in my head; that could be dangerous; it might work out well but then again, the whole thing might be a bust! Ha!
This morning 3 people came to the mission house. They really wanted to come to the Child Center but it was not open. A mother came with her husband and her husband’s brother; the mother had a newborn set of twin girls. The mother was not a new mother; she has 4 other children. She was worried that she did not have enough breast milk for the twins. She said the babies cry all the time. It was obvious that the mother had breast milk so I checked the babies to see if they were tongue tied and sure enough both of them were; they were not able to nurse well. I asked them to go to the clinic near the mission house or to go to Yendi hospital and see if the doctor thought their tongues needed to be clipped. The babies were tiny so I gave them several sets of preemie clothes, socks and hats. The mother was very pleased with the gift. She was not happy that she did not leave with formula. I told her husband and brother-in-law that we could not stop them from buying and feeding the girls formula but that we would not provide it for them. Hopefully the babies will do well.
Super, the church leader from the church we visited on Sunday came to the mission house to get the church benches that we had promised them. We also gave him clothes and a blanket for his new baby girl. The baby is 40 days old and will receive her name on Sunday. A couple of the leaders followed Steve back to the mission house to get reading glasses.
Thank you for all you do! We really appreciate the help!

The Monkeyshines
I am feeling much better than I was last night! I think that I will live! I have had no more vomiting for which I am very thankful! That was no fun!
I helped Mom sew today; I love it when she sews because there are so many things lying around that I can grab! Today I have pulled the heads off 3 straight pins, I destroyed a Bic ink pen and a mechanical pencil and ate the lead. I chewed up a couple paper piecing patterns and I even yanked down the calendar and tore the edge off of October and November. I was able to get hold of Dad’s C-PAP hose and mask; when Mom saw me I had removed the mask portion and had my whole face down in it! That was great fun but Mom was annoyed because she had to wash and sanitize the mask! I tried to help Mom with the ironing; at one point I reached out and touched the iron. Mom about died! She was afraid that I had burned my hand but it only touched the handle. I love fabric so when the fabric is on the bed, I unfold it so I can crawl under it! Mom kept me well fed while we worked; my appetite is back so I enjoyed lots of snacks today! When I got tired, I would crawl inside Mom’s shirt and take a nap. After a short nap I was raring to go again! Mom would not get nearly as much done if I was not around to help her! I know she appreciates my help even though she does not say so!
I had a setback and had to go in the time-out box today! Mom sat on the edge of the bed to pet me; I put my head under her neck and pretended like I was going to give her sweet monkey kisses but instead I bit her neck! I could not help myself! It was more temptation than I could stand! And off to time-out I went!
Happy sewing!
Love, Skeeter Tailor
