Most of the day was spent out at Kulkpeni for the class. Kandie was a big help today. There were several things that we needed to distribute to the men attending the class. In addition to the regular items that I take out to class such as bibles (English and Konkomba), cups, baptismal certificates, juice, etc., there were also men’s ties, button up dress shirts, and bicycle tubes.
We set up several tables outside under the Nim tree at Kulkpeni and laid all the shirts out on the tables and draped the ties over a square concrete block water container that was empty for the men to choose from. We were not able to find enough of the good quality bike tires so we gave each man a bicycle tube and 25GH Cedis to purchase their own tire for their bike. The men were very happy to get the gifts. Having Kandie around made the work go faster and allowed Timothy to teach class while we distributed the items to each man. We thank all of you that have donated shirts and ties for this purpose.
During my class time I went over the instructions that are printed in the invitation letters that were given out to the individual congregations. I was hoping more men would be present from the Nanumba District but Brother Moses Mabe said he would make sure each congregation received their letter. We also worked on the assignments for the seminar’s program.
Shortly after we arrived this morning Brother Moses handed me a letter. If you remember earlier this week the congregation at Bakpaba had a problem with the cargo truck breaking down that was bringing their roofing sheets up from Kumasi. The letter was an appreciation letter from the Church thanking us for the financial gift to help transport the roofing sheet. We are passing that thanks on to you and the Lord for giving us the money to help.
Some of the men from the Chereponi area requested we dismiss class a little early so they don’t miss their bus. The roads are flooded. The drivers don’t want to drive in the dark. They are leaving the stations earlier than normal. We wanted to visit the Churches in this area that Nana Bekum works with next month but we will have to wait until we return early next year when the water has subsided.
That is it for today. Please keep the seminar coming up next month in your prayers.
In His service,
Stephen and Kandie Taylor
