Steve worked with the team from the hospital again today.  Today they told them they wanted to get an early start and told everyone to gather at 7:30.  Steve said that there were only 3 of them that were actually there at 7:30.  Ghana Time!  He said that they had a good day.

Zack from Bakpaba stopped by for a visit this morning.  He ran into Steve this morning; he was trying to see the eye nurse at the hospital to have his eyes checked but no one was around because the eye nurse was with the team that was doing screenings at the high school.  Steve told him to come to the mission house and I would give him a pair of reading glasses.  The hospital does not even have glasses; they just tell the people their prescription and it is up to them to find the glasses.  He was happy to be able to read again.

This morning one of the babies that we have been seeing for several months came and had taken a turn for the worse.  She used to be on track for her mental development but she had had 3 episodes of high fever and seizures.  Today we could tell that she was not able to see and she could not hold up her head.  So sad!  The high fevers are usually brought on by malaria.  The mother said that they only took the baby to the hospital during 2 of the episodes.

It is trying to blow up a rain storm but Steve said that it is well to the south of us.  Maybe it will come back around and give us some rain during the night.  It was hot again today; the high temperature was 116 degrees.  It is almost sundown and it is still 101 degrees.

Zorash, Mr. Iddrisu and I spent 2 ½ hours this afternoon running back and forth from one office building to another trying to get a tax ID number for Emmanuel.  What a mess!  The only documents they will accept for proof of identification is a passport, a national ID card or a voter’s ID card.  The only one Emmanuel possesses is the voter’s ID card and he has lost it.  Finally at the end of it all the IRS man said that he would accept the copy of the information that was on the voter’s ID card.  Now, we have not seen the tax ID certificate but we have faith that we will get it.  We applied for several so we are hopeful that they will all come in at the same time.

Thank you for the love, prayers and support.

In His Service,

Steve and Kandie
