As soon as we finished eating breakfast at the hotel Kandie and I drove over to the parking lot that is close to the church building to wait for Brother Richard.  When he arrived a few minutes later he got into the truck with us and showed us where he and his family lived. We really wanted to see their children and give them the gifts we had brought for them. His two boys got a soccer ball while the fourteen month girl was given a doll baby. They also have a thirteen year old adopted daughter that we gave some cosmetics to.  The little girl was still in bed but the other three kids enjoyed their gifts.

At the seminar today the topics consisted of Church history in Ghana and the New Testament organization for the Church.  During the lunch break Kandie and I went with Brother Daniel to his house. Daniel makes Batiks and tie dye pieces of fabric.  Daniel uses arm crutches to get around due to having Polio as a small child.   His wife wasn’t expecting us but she was very kind and hospitable.  Daniel and his wife sew.  Daniel also teaches textiles at the poly techic school.  He was very happy we came to see his work. We bought several pieces of fabric to support his work.

Brother Richard gave me a few minutes this afternoon to speak to the audience. I thanked them for allowing us to attend the seminar.

The food they served today at the seminar was Banku and a very thick and slimy okra and fish stew with tidbits of boiled cow hide.  It was good but it was almost too slippery for me.

The seminar closed around 4pm.  We said our goodbyes to the people and headed back to the hotel. Before we left we asked Brother Richard what time services started.  We were surprised when he told us the service starts at 7 am!  I have to be sure to get there on time since I have been asked to preach tomorrow morning.

We hope all of you have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend!

In His service,

Stephen and Kandie Taylor
